Line-up

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet arrangement of previous albums. It was a more powerful, consistent effort that had a harder edge than Hydra. Its more punk-rock sound was a reflection of the maturation of the group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's improved ability on the drums and a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. Keyboardist David Paich's work was sharper, more intricate and less cloned earlier efforts.

After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live show in Amsterdam that was released as a two-CD set entitled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
