The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers can be ideal for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their to-do lists. They have impressive mapping and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum reviews vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other options on this list making it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best automatic vacuum navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.

It is very efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one motion. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings easily. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the two side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, but not by much. The rotating mop spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and along baseboards. Those same front arms can be used to sweep larger objects, such as broken toys and fallen books.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't make as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to install and works well however this is something you'll have to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a wide range of features.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home, detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and intelligently. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean that is also quite fast.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching an array of surfaces. This includes corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. They also have a stretchy side brush that extends to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the amount of suction and select between a back-andforth, or a more random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it will make, which will affect the speed at which the device can move through your home. You can also deactivate the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and carpets.

This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it is packed with a wide array of innovative features. However, it's important to note that it incurs regular expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads must be changed every one to three months.

The robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has a power button which doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a 'Home button that allows it to go home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module which is equipped with an elastomer pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean you don't have to fret about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-orOur testers discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting hair from pets. It was able capture some of the hair that our cats shed, and even made it into the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots had struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low, and there were some pleasant jingles to signal that it was beginning and finishing its work.

Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to change out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn't have the capacity to hold multiple maps, which can be a problem for homes with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have some unique features which are worth a look. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its huge dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin and an 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base also has a variety of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning job and then recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two of the buttons to switch on the child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognising objects.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it is entangled in a hazard like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It will not work until you untangle it manually. While it was not common, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert in its app.

Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during cleaning. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a big change from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky, boxy units.robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room
