1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its most significant innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes and the pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's also the first to automatically send you a photo of the object it comes across to let you know to avoid it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, picking up dirt and spills with ease without leaving any trace that was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app which lets you schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't vacuum areas you don't want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it with a voice.
Its design is also superior to the rest and features a sleek, top robot vacuum piece that looks more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties and is ideal to reduce the time spent cleaning.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ was quick to eliminated dirt, dust and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place, rather than scattering it around the floor. It was able to capture sand, small gravel and even a bit of grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. It did all this without getting caught in our pet's shedding hair.
Although it's not as sophisticated as the Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum and can't clean stairs The J7+ is an excellent choice for those who require both a vac and a mop in their home. It's not expensive and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.
Although the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that use robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and it's sometimes difficult to tell if they are working until you actually see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, your best inexpensive robot vacuum choice is probably hybrid. These bots are equipped with a tank of water so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also come with a variety of extra features, robot vacuum cleaner amazon including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're expensive at full retail but often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is the manufacturer of several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. disappoint. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and while it's not equipped with some of the features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent choice if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles like table legs and walls which makes it a great choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in getting rid of dust bunnies which is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums often be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation is top-quality, with a few misses on walls and corners.
The Q5+, just like other Roborock products, can be controlled by only a few buttons on your device or through the Roborock App. With the app you can start and stop cleaning, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and adjust your home map, or re-label rooms.
If you decide to go with the Q5+ model, it ships with a new auto-empty dock that's specifically designed to make this robot easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once in place emptying the bin can be done with relative ease. It also has an impressive LCD display which is great to have when you're setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This isn't an essential feature for most people but it can aid in keeping track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design and function are some of the best vacuums on the market - but it's also pricey.
The base station looks nice and hides it when not in use, and its size is quite compact. But the station's main selling point is how it automates numerous tasks and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot fully charged and clean.
Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robovacs that I've tested that do a really good job of picking up debris on plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the home. It's also unable to climb stairs like other competitors and doesn't come with a dock to create a clean zone for plush carpets.
Although it doesn't provide the same amount of cleaning configuration options in its app, or as many in-app shortcuts like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for an all-around great robot vacuum and mop that's worth the higher price cost.
If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of alternatives available. Many of the eufy models cost substantially less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example is less expensive however it comes with more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, with a better overall vacuuming experience on floors that are unfinished, low-pile carpets and even high-pile ones.

Its design is a little less flashy than some of the rival models, sporting a sleek black finish and three physical buttons that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in an arc for two minutes). You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.
The way the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It uses a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects it encounters while retaining what it's cleaned and what it isn't able to access. It will return to the base to recharge, and then begins cleaning the area it left.
The eufy G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more constructed, has lower recurring expenses, charges more quickly and has the same battery life. It also offers better performance on bare floors and carpets with low pile. It has a larger dust bin that does not require the same amount of emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't need to be emptied as often, and it has less trouble with bulky materials like cereal.
